27/11/11

I mean, I hate creating names for my drawings. Drawing is what it is, you don't need an explanation. And if you don't get it's meaning, create your own. When something is public, it shifts from being personal and gives a right to judge and imagine to everyone. So yeah, I don't like naming drawings. Or talking about music. Or dancing about architecture.

"Talking about music is like dancing about architecture" - Frank Zappa (or whoever said it first, can you imagine, such a famous quote and no one knows who said it first? awesome.)

Kitchen towel is good for drawing too

Drawn on a kitchen towel when didn't have any paper nearby. Inspired by interesting article in nytimes.com about our "no anger, no edge, no ego" generation. Worth reading.
Also, today is one month till my birthday and I'm starting to get that feeling "oh fuck, I'm old"

There is enough

I wrote this one after my first visit to Glasgow in September 2010. One American girl said it to me and I still believe it. There is this big and interesting and fascinating world but there is always time to see everything if you want hard enough. I love how wishes come true.

Moon girl

This was drawn in July 2010 I think. One year after I've written some movie list when I didn't have any space left.

One friendly creature

Well, if you think about it, we all can be friendly (if we want it). This guy was drawn in August 2010.

Little friendly tree spirit

This little guy lives on one of my notebooks pages. I was bored in class :)
Inspired (obviously) by Miyazaki's Kodama creatures in movie 'Princess Mononoke'

A is for Antlers

Maybe I'll do all the alphabet with words that are special to me.
A definitely goes to Antlers. I love antlers, I love deers and everything related. I even love the band called The Antlers.

Woman's world

Taking off your bra in the evening - one of small daily pleasures in woman's life.

Englishman by the seaside

A quick sketch of an englishman. No idea why he's English. Anyway, there is some stormy seaside and clouds and stuff.

three shoes

playing with colours first time after few years. The result is even worse than I expected but meh.
Acrylic on paper.

running with the devil

my devil has no face but maybe it is easier to trust him that way.
Painting done in summer 2010 (probably)

Illustration Friday: Swell

Here's my entry to previous week's IF. It's one day too late to submit this in IF website so it will live only in this super popular awesome blog.

Meditation in bath

I really do love drawing baths and bathrooms.... The weird lines at the top on the left are from the other sketch.

Illustration Friday: Imperfect

Because we all are perfect with our minor imperfections. There are bigger problems to worry about.

Playing with watercolours: Singer

It's just half of my sketch I did some time ago. I did quite a few drawings of this lady, couldn't find the right place on the paper for her. The right dress, right hair, right cafe to sing at... Very complicated lady I must say. I hope I'll have patience to do the whole painting though, I kinda hate watercolours sometimes.

Face and Doors?

Random 2 min drawing. I'm not even sure what that is. If you know, tell me.

Cute beast

I started drawing an eye and then accidentally made quite nice creature of if. He would be scary in reality though.

Illustration Friday: Obsession

My first entry to this amazing idea. I just found about it yesterday so don't blame me. (you can click on the image to see the bigger version)
This is one of those cute obsessions I guess. I tend to think that's how I look like when I'm in my reading mood. Probably that's weird to some people but I read at least three books at the same time!

Farmer

This one was done few months ago in one of the best coffee shops I've ever been to. It's called Books and Beans, if you ever visit Aberdeen go check it out! They have this super cool second hand book store/coffee shop where you can sit for hours. That's what I did actually. And this farmer just happened. Scan is pretty bad but whatever.

Hello world!

So finally I decided to create a small place in a big world for all my drawings. I doubt they are much Van Gogh'ish-like but they are my babies so I love them still. Hope you'll enjoy :)
